Christmas Cards
I know. I am that single person that sends an actual paper card to my friends and family. It is just a small note, but I think in this world where we are all so separated by space, lack of time, and holiday business it is nice to take a second to see who is out there thinking fondly about you and the times you have shared. That might be my perspective as a single woman, but that effort to create and mail a card or letter or photo says more than a text or email and is worth the time to me. Shutterfly is my go-to site for creating cards, but it could be as simple as my best friend does – a postcard to share the year’s adventures and love. You could even just buy the glitter laden Hallmark cards and mail those and simply say, “Merry Christmas.” Whatever it is, it is an old school tradition that is tactile for the receiver and, though “IRL,” it is not screen related and reminds us all to slow down and enjoy the friends and family who make our lives worthwhile.
